READING INTERVENTIONIST

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Oklahoma Certificate (required), Minimum 3 years teaching experience, training in 

district language arts and reading initiatives (preferred).

POSITION DESCRIPTION:  The Reading Interventionist works with administrators, classroom teachers, campus support staff and central office instructional and support staff to plan and implement quality reading instruction as well as interventions for students in need of support. The Reading Interventionist also provides reading and language arts staff development on the campus, evaluates students to determine reading strengths and weaknesses, and plans and implements programming for parent involvement and family reading. Reading programs and design are based on the Science of Reading (SOR).

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Regular classroom/school environment. Regular office environment, including frequent use of electronic email, being able to sit for long periods of time without a break, etc. Normal effort of occasional periods of moderate physical activity. Work is typically performed in an office environment with some travel to other campuses. Interruptions are expected to occur often. Must be able to adapt and respond quickly to constantly changing technology.
